Delicious Sugar Cookies

A delightful sugar cookie recipe that blends buttery flavor with soft, chewy texture, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, at room temperature
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer, blend butter and sugar until just combined, about 45 seconds.
  2. Add egg, vanilla, and almond extracts and mix until creamy, about 1 minute.
  3. Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until no streaks of flour remain.
  4. Shape the dough into a flat disk, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  6. Roll out the chilled dough to 1/4 inch thickness on a floured surface.
  7. Cut out shapes with cookie cutters and transfer to prepared baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 8 to 12 minutes until edges are golden brown.
  9. Allow cookies to cool completely on a wire rack before frosting or serving.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freeze baked cookies for up to three months.
