- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups mashed potatoes
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, add the ground beef and cook over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the chopped onion and sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes until soft.
- Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually add the beef broth and milk while stirring until thickened.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Pour the beef mixture into a baking dish and spread evenly.
- Top with mashed potatoes and spread them over the beef mixture.
- Bake for about 30 minutes until hot and bubbling.
Notes
For extra flavor, add your favorite herbs or spices to the beef mixture. You can use frozen mashed potatoes if you want to save time. Adding shredded cheese on top before baking provides a great crunch.
