- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 cup beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups mashed potatoes
- 1 cup grated cheese (optional)
- Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well and shape into patties.
- Place the patties in a baking dish.
- Pour beef broth over the patties.
- Spread the mashed potatoes on top of the patties.
- If desired, sprinkle grated cheese over the mashed potatoes.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Feel free to customize the seasonings to your taste. For creamier mashed potatoes, add butter and milk before spreading them on top.
