Amish Hamburger Steak Bake

A comforting and hearty meal of ground beef, tender potatoes, and nutritious vegetables, all baked together in a savory broth.

  • Total Time: 75 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup diced potatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with chopped onions over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a baking dish, combine the browned beef, diced potatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and mixed vegetables if using.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the liquid is absorbed.
  7. Serve hot.

Notes

Feel free to customize the mixed vegetables and drain the fat from the beef to avoid a greasy dish. For added flavor, consider mixing in garlic powder or onion powder with the beef. You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
