- Cipollini onions
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 cup buttermilk
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Peel the cipollini onions and cut slits at the base without cutting all the way through.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Dip each onion into buttermilk, then coat well with the flour mixture.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the onions for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.

Serve with dipping sauces like ranch dressing or garlic dip for an extra layer of flavor.
