Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
- Melt 1/2 cup of butter for the brownie batter in the microwave for about 30 seconds, then stir in granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Sift cocoa powder, flour, and salt into the melted mixture, mixing until smooth.
- For the cookie dough, cream together 1/2 cup softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until combined.
- Gradually add flour, baking soda, and salt, mixing gently until a soft dough forms, then fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour brownie batter into the lined baking dish, spreading evenly.
- Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough over the brownie layer and gently press to create a marbled effect.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes until the edges are set and the center is slightly gooey.
- Allow to cool completely in the baking dish before cutting into squares.
Notes
For an extra treat, serve warm brownies with vanilla ice cream or drizzle with chocolate syrup.
