  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (for cookie dough)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (for cookie dough)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Melt 1/2 cup of butter for the brownie batter in the microwave for about 30 seconds, then stir in granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Sift cocoa powder, flour, and salt into the melted mixture, mixing until smooth.
  4. For the cookie dough, cream together 1/2 cup softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  5. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until combined.
  6. Gradually add flour, baking soda, and salt, mixing gently until a soft dough forms, then fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Pour brownie batter into the lined baking dish, spreading evenly.
  8. Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough over the brownie layer and gently press to create a marbled effect.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes until the edges are set and the center is slightly gooey.
  10. Allow to cool completely in the baking dish before cutting into squares.

Notes

For an extra treat, serve warm brownies with vanilla ice cream or drizzle with chocolate syrup.
