Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownies

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, melt the 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, then mix in the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Sift in the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, and salt. Stir until smooth and lump-free.
  4. In another bowl, cream the softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the creamed mixture, then mix well.
  6. Gradually incorporate the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until a soft dough forms. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Spread the brownie batter evenly into the lined baking dish.
  8. Drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough mixture on top of the brownie batter.
  9. Gently press the cookie dough into the brownie batter to create a marbled effect.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the edges are set and the center is slightly gooey.
  11. Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting into squares and serving.
