- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
- Melt the butter in a large mixing bowl and mix with sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition, then add vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for about 25 minutes.
- While cooling, melt the semi-sweet chocolate and let it cool slightly.
- Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
- Fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream gently.
- Spread the mousse over the cooled brownies and chill for at least 2 hours.
- Cut into squares to serve.
Notes
Best served chilled; can be garnished with berries or chocolate shavings.
