  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (plus 1 teaspoon)
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Apples: Peel, core, and chop or slice the apples.
  2. Make the Filling: In a saucepan, combine the apples, sugar, and 3 tablespoons of water. Cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until apples soften.
  3. Add Spices: Stir in the cinnamon for flavor.
  4. Thicken the Filling: Mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water. Add to the filling until thick and bubbly.
  5. Prepare the Pan: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a pie dish.
  6. Layer the Filling: Pour the apple filling into the greased pie dish.
  7. Prepare the Cinnamon Rolls: Cut each roll into quarters and scatter over the apple filling.
  8. Add Butter: Drizzle melted butter over the cinnamon rolls.
  9. Bake the Pie: Bake according to cinnamon roll package instructions (25-30 minutes).
  10. Frosting Finish: Drizzle frosting over the warm pie before serving.
