- 1 package cinnamon rolls with frosting (refrigerated)
- 4 medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped or sliced
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons water
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (plus 1 teaspoon)
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- Prepare Your Apples: Peel, core, and chop or slice the apples.
- Make the Filling: In a saucepan, combine the apples, sugar, and 3 tablespoons of water. Cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until apples soften.
- Add Spices: Stir in the cinnamon for flavor.
- Thicken the Filling: Mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water. Add to the filling until thick and bubbly.
- Prepare the Pan: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a pie dish.
- Layer the Filling: Pour the apple filling into the greased pie dish.
- Prepare the Cinnamon Rolls: Cut each roll into quarters and scatter over the apple filling.
- Add Butter: Drizzle melted butter over the cinnamon rolls.
- Bake the Pie: Bake according to cinnamon roll package instructions (25-30 minutes).
- Frosting Finish: Drizzle frosting over the warm pie before serving.
Notes
Serve with ice cream or whipped cream for an indulgent treat. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
