Ingredients
Scale
- 20 oz cheese tortellini
- 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Garlic powder
- Smoked paprika
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded or freshly grated
- Parsley, chopped (optional)
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cracked black pepper (optional garnish)
Instructions
- In a large pot, boil water and add some salt. Cook the cheese tortellini according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Season the steak with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steak to your desired doneness, then let it rest before slicing.
- In the same skillet, add butter and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Slowly add heavy cream and whole milk, stirring well, and cook until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Stir in the shredded or grated parmesan until melted and smooth.
- Add the cooked tortellini to the sauce and toss to coat. Slice the steak and place it on top. Garnish with parsley, red pepper flakes, and cracked black pepper if desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the steak in olive oil, salt, and spices for an hour before cooking. Use freshly grated parmesan for the best flavor. Avoid overcooking the steak; let it rest for juices to settle before slicing.
