  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • Vegetable oil for frying (about 1 cup)

Instructions

  1. Drain the firm tofu and press it gently to remove excess moisture for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Cut the pressed tofu into uniform bite-sized cubes.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil to create the honey garlic sauce.
  4. Coat each tofu cube evenly in cornstarch for a crispy texture.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the tofu cubes until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Remove the fried tofu and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  7. Return the skillet to medium heat, pour in the honey garlic sauce, and let it simmer for about a minute.
  8. Add the crispy tofu to the sauce and gently toss to coat evenly.

Notes

Press tofu well to ensure crispiness. Use a non-stick skillet to prevent sticking during frying.
