Ingredients

- 2 to 3 pounds beef roast
- 1 packet au jus gravy mix
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 to 6 hoagie rolls
- Provolone cheese (optional)
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Place the beef roast in the slow cooker.
- Sprinkle the au jus gravy mix over the roast.
- Pour the beef broth over the meat and add the sliced onion.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is tender and easily shredded.
- Once cooked, shred the beef with two forks and stir it back into the juices.
- Serve the beef on hoagie rolls, topped with a slice of provolone cheese if desired, and dip into the au jus.
Notes
Use a good quality beef roast for the best flavor. Toast hoagie rolls for added texture.
