Ingredients

- 2–3 pounds of beef chuck roast
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 slices of provolone cheese
- French rolls or hoagie buns
Instructions
- Place the beef chuck roast in the crockpot.
- Add the sliced onion and minced garlic on top of the roast.
- In a separate bowl, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and black pepper, then pour over the beef.
- Cover and cook on low for 480 minutes or high for 240 minutes until the beef is tender.
- Once cooked, shred the beef with a fork.
- Toast the French rolls and fill them with the shredded beef and a slice of provolone cheese.
- Serve with a side of the au jus for dipping.
Notes
For extra flavor, sear the beef roast before adding to the crockpot. Adjust Worcestershire sauce to taste. Try different cheeses for a twist.
