Crockpot French Dip Sandwiches

Tender and flavorful beef chuck roast cooked in a slow cooker, served in crusty rolls with provolone cheese and au jus for dipping.

Ingredients

  • 23 pounds of beef chuck roast
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 slices of provolone cheese
  • French rolls or hoagie buns

Instructions

  1. Place the beef chuck roast in the crockpot.
  2. Add the sliced onion and minced garlic on top of the roast.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and black pepper, then pour over the beef.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 480 minutes or high for 240 minutes until the beef is tender.
  5. Once cooked, shred the beef with a fork.
  6. Toast the French rolls and fill them with the shredded beef and a slice of provolone cheese.
  7. Serve with a side of the au jus for dipping.

Notes

For extra flavor, sear the beef roast before adding to the crockpot. Adjust Worcestershire sauce to taste. Try different cheeses for a twist.
