- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, sliced
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 onion, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until browned, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Grease a baking dish and layer half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom.
- Add half of the cooked beef and onion mixture on top of the potatoes.
- Pour half of the cream of mushroom soup over the beef layer.
- Sprinkle a layer of shredded cheddar cheese over the soup.
- Repeat the layering process with the remaining potatoes, beef mixture, soup, and cheese, finishing with cheese on top.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is melted and golden.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Pairs well with a green salad or crusty bread. Consider adding toppings like green onions or jalapeños for extra flavor.
