Easy Banana Bread

A classic and simple banana bread recipe perfect for using up overripe bananas, producing a moist and delicious loaf.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 cups mashed bananas (35 bananas)
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set this mixture aside.
  3. In a larger mixing bowl, combine sugar, oil, eggs, and the mashed bananas. Mix well until fully combined.
  4. Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and stir just until all ingredients are mixed. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  6. Bake for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For the best flavor, use ripe bananas with brown spots. Experiment with add-ins like nuts or chocolate chips.
