Easy Healthy Broccoli Pasta

Ingredients

  • 8 oz whole wheat pasta
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the whole wheat pasta according to package instructions until al dente in salted boiling water.
  2. Add broccoli florets in the last 3 minutes of cooking.
  3. Drain the pasta and broccoli together in a colander.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté minced garlic and red pepper flakes for about 1 minute.
  5. Add the drained pasta and broccoli to the skillet and toss to combine.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve warm, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
