- 8 oz whole wheat pasta
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions
- Cook the whole wheat pasta according to package instructions until al dente in salted boiling water.
- Add broccoli florets in the last 3 minutes of cooking.
- Drain the pasta and broccoli together in a colander.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté minced garlic and red pepper flakes for about 1 minute.
- Add the drained pasta and broccoli to the skillet and toss to combine.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve warm, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
