Firecracker Ground Chicken

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 2 cups chopped broccoli
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
  • 1/2 cup buffalo sauce
  • 3 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic (grated or minced)
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger (grated)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together buffalo sauce, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger until well combined. Set aside.
  2. Heat avocado oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the minced onion and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the ground chicken to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and cooked through.
  4. Add chopped broccoli, paprika, salt, and pepper into the skillet, stirring to combine with the chicken.
  5. Pour the prepared firecracker sauce over the mixture and ensure all ingredients are evenly coated.
  6. Cook for an additional 5 minutes until the broccoli reaches the desired tenderness.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
  8. Spoon the mixture over steamed rice, noodles, or in lettuce wraps.

Notes

Adjust the buffalo sauce for desired spiciness. You can also substitute ground chicken with turkey, beef, or tofu.
