French Dip Squares

Delicious and easy-to-make French Dip Squares combining tender roast beef, gooey cheese, and flaky crescent dough, served with savory Au Jus gravy for dipping.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb roast beef, thinly sliced
  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup Au Jus gravy
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (provolone or mozzarella)
  • Onion powder to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and lay it flat in a greased baking dish, pressing the seams together.
  3. Layer the roast beef evenly on top of the dough.
  4. Sprinkle shredded cheese, onion powder, and black pepper over the beef.
  5. Roll out another sheet of crescent dough to cover the filling, sealing the edges well.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. While baking, heat the Au Jus gravy on the stovetop.
  8. Once baked, allow the dish to cool slightly, cut into squares, and serve warm with Au Jus gravy for dipping.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding sautéed onions or peppers with the roast beef. Make sure to seal the edges of the crescent dough to prevent filling spills.
