French Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz high-quality dark chocolate (60% cocoa)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, warm whole milk and heavy cream until just below boiling.
  2. Add chopped dark chocolate to the mixture, stirring continuously until fully melted and smooth.
  3. Stir in sugar and vanilla extract until dissolved; taste and adjust sweetness if desired.
  4. Whisk or use an electric frother to create a light froth.
  5. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream or marshmallows, if desired.

Notes

For a special touch, add a dollop of whipped cream or a sprinkle of cocoa powder on top. You can serve it with cookies or small pastries.
