- 1 cup white rice
- 1 can French onion soup
- 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., Swiss or mozzarella)
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cups beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for sautéing
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the diced onion until translucent.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart, and cook until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
- Stir in the rice, French onion soup, and beef broth until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Top with shredded cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For added richness, mix in sautéed mushrooms or bell peppers when cooking the beef. You can also use ground turkey for a lighter option.
