Ingredients
Scale
- 2 steaks (ribeye or sirloin)
- 2 medium potatoes
- 1 bunch of asparagus
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Garlic powder (optional)
- Fresh herbs (optional)
Instructions
- Peel and chop the potatoes into chunks. Boil in salted water for about 15-20 minutes until tender. Drain and mash with butter, salt, and pepper.
- Season the steaks with salt, pepper, and garlic powder if desired.
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat and add the steaks. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust to your desired doneness.
- Add asparagus to the same pan in the last few minutes of cooking the steaks, cooking until tender.
- Serve the steak alongside mashed potatoes and asparagus. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
Choose steaks that are at least 1 inch thick for better cooking results. Let the steaks rest after cooking to retain juices. Experiment with seasonings like sour cream or cheese in mashed potatoes.
