Instructions

  1. Peel and chop the potatoes into chunks. Boil in salted water for about 15-20 minutes until tender. Drain and mash with butter, salt, and pepper.
  2. Season the steaks with salt, pepper, and garlic powder if desired.
  3. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat and add the steaks. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust to your desired doneness.
  4. Add asparagus to the same pan in the last few minutes of cooking the steaks, cooking until tender.
  5. Serve the steak alongside mashed potatoes and asparagus. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Choose steaks that are at least 1 inch thick for better cooking results. Let the steaks rest after cooking to retain juices. Experiment with seasonings like sour cream or cheese in mashed potatoes.
