Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup cheese (e.g., provolone or Cheddar)
- 4 hoagie rolls
- Oil for sautéing
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, add a little oil and sauté the sliced onions until they’re soft and translucent.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
- Once the beef is cooked, reduce the heat and sprinkle the cheese over the meat and onions. Cover the skillet until the cheese melts.
- Toast the hoagie rolls, then fill them with the beef mixture. Serve hot.
Notes
For best texture, use fresh hoagie rolls. Experiment with different types of cheese and add bell peppers or mushrooms for extra veggies.
