Ground Beef Philly Cheesesteaks

Quick and satisfying Ground Beef Philly Cheesesteaks filled with sautéed onions, melted provolone cheese, and seasoned beef, all in a soft hoagie roll.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 cups provolone cheese, shredded
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced onions and sauté until they are translucent.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through.
  4. Reduce heat and add shredded provolone cheese on top of the beef mixture. Allow it to melt.
  5. Toast the hoagie rolls in the oven or a skillet.
  6. Load the beef and cheese mixture into each hoagie roll and serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding garlic powder or Worcestershire sauce to the beef while it cooks. Watch the cheese closely to avoid burning.
