Ground Beef Philly Cheesesteaks

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions and sauté until they are soft and translucent.
  3. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef, cooking until browned.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Once the beef is cooked, top with provolone cheese and cover the skillet until the cheese melts.
  6. Toast the hoagie rolls lightly.
  7. Fill each roll with the beef and onion mixture and serve warm.

Notes

You can add sautéed peppers or hot sauce for extra flavor. For a lighter version, swap ground beef for lean turkey or chicken.
