Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onions and sauté until they are soft and translucent.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef, cooking until browned.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Once the beef is cooked, top with provolone cheese and cover the skillet until the cheese melts.
- Toast the hoagie rolls lightly.
- Fill each roll with the beef and onion mixture and serve warm.
Notes
You can add sautéed peppers or hot sauce for extra flavor. For a lighter version, swap ground beef for lean turkey or chicken.
