- 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 cup sugar (or sweetener of choice)
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix applesauce, vanilla extract, and sugar until well combined.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and cinnamon.
- Gradually mix the wet and dry ingredients until a dough forms.
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Shape the dough into small bites and lightly spray them with cooking spray.
- Place the bites in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not touching.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove the churro bites and serve warm, possibly dusted with additional cinnamon and sugar.
Notes
Store leftover churro bites in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days, or refrigerate for up to a week. Reheat in the air fryer for best results.
