Delicious and unique cabbage steaks glazed with sweet honey and tangy balsamic vinegar, perfect as a main or side dish.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large head green cabbage (about 34 pounds)
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup for a vegan option)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: Crumbled feta cheese or toasted nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Remove the outer leaves of the cabbage and cut it into thick slices (about 1-inch thick).
  3. In a small bowl, mix the balsamic vinegar, honey, olive oil, salt, and pepper to create a glaze.
  4. Place the cabbage steaks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Brush both sides of the cabbage with the balsamic glaze.
  6. Roast in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through until the edges are browned and crispy.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the cabbage steaks cool slightly before serving. Top with optional feta cheese or nuts, if desired.

Notes

Store leftover cabbage steaks in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
