Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Ground Chicken (93% lean)
- 1/2 cup Feta Cheese (or goat cheese, or omit for dairy-free)
- 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
- 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley (or dill)
- 1 tsp Dried Oregano
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper (freshly ground)
- 1/4 tsp Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp Lemon Zest
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (or almond flour for gluten-free)
- 1 large Egg
- 1 cup Tzatziki Sauce
- 2 cups Fresh Vegetables (lettuce, sliced tomatoes, cucumbers)
- 4 pieces Buns or Pita (whole grain or gluten-free)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, feta cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, fresh parsley, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes (if using), lemon zest, lemon juice, breadcrumbs, and the egg. Mix until all ingredients are well combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Form the mixture into four equal patties.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until they are fully cooked and have reached an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
- Once cooked, remove the burgers from the grill or skillet and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra moisture, use ground chicken that contains a bit more fat. You can customize the burgers by adding chopped spinach or sun-dried tomatoes for variation.
