Lemon Brownies

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter and granulated sugar. Mix well.
  3. Add eggs, vanilla extract, lemon zest, and lemon juice to the mixture, and stir until smooth.
  4. Gradually mix in the flour and salt until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let cool completely before dusting with powdered sugar and cutting into squares.

Notes

For an extra lemony flavor, consider adding more lemon zest or juice. Store in an airtight container.
