  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (fresh)
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups cooked grains (brown rice, quinoa, or cauliflower rice)
  • 1 cup roasted chickpeas (optional for paleo or keto)
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes (halved)
  • 1 cucumber (diced)
  • ½ red onion (thinly sliced)
  • ½ cup kalamata olives (pitted)
  • ⅓ cup feta cheese (crumbled; optional for dairy-free)
  • ¼ cup fresh herbs (parsley or dill, chopped)
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (plain; coconut yogurt for dairy-free)
  • ½ cucumber (grated, squeezed dry)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (fresh)
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill (chopped)
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice (fresh)
  • 1 tsp honey (omit for Whole30)
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)

Directions:

  1. Mix the marinade ingredients: olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper. Coat the steak with the marinade and let it marinate for 30 minutes to 4 hours.
  2. In another bowl, mix the tzatziki ingredients: Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, minced garlic, fresh dill, salt, and pepper. Chill it in the fridge while the steak marinates.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the vinaigrette ingredients: olive oil, lemon juice, honey, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.
  4. Heat a skillet over high heat and sear the marinated steak for 4–5 minutes on each side. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it thinly.
  5. To assemble the bowl, layer cooked grains, sliced steak, and your choice of toppings. Drizzle with tzatziki and vinaigrette before serving.

How to Serve Mediterranean Steak Bowl

Serve the Mediterranean Steak Bowl warm or at room temperature. It’s great for a balanced meal on its own or paired with a simple side salad. Enjoy it with your family or friends for a lovely gathering!

How to Store Mediterranean Steak Bowl

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge. The steak and toppings can last for about 3–4 days. You can keep the tzatziki and vinaigrette separate to maintain freshness. Reheat the steak gently before serving.

Tips to Make Mediterranean Steak Bowl

  • Allow the steak to marinate for at least two hours for the best flavor.
  • Feel free to add more veggies like bell peppers or spinach for extra nutrition.
  • You can substitute the grains with your favorite low-carb options such as cauliflower rice.
