- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 tablespoons butter (divided)
- 6 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 15-ounce can tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups heavy cream
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- ½ teaspoon curry powder
- ¼ cup freshly chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
- Naan bread (for serving)
- Steamed rice (for serving)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine chicken with 1 teaspoon salt, garlic powder, sweet paprika, curry powder, and Greek yogurt.
- Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat and cook the marinated chicken for 5-7 minutes until browned.
- Remove chicken and set it aside.
- Add butter to the same pan, then sauté garlic and onion for 2-3 minutes until soft.
- Add tomato sauce, sugar, salt, and black pepper, and stir well.
- Let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes, then slowly add heavy cream and cayenne pepper if desired.
- Return the chicken to the pan, add garam masala and curry powder, and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
- Garnish with parsley and serve with naan or rice.
Notes
For a healthier version, consider adding vegetables like bell peppers or spinach. Adjust spices to taste.
