- 1 cup cooked corned beef, shredded
- 1 cup sauerkraut, drained and chopped
- 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 eggs, beaten
- Oil for frying
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon horseradish
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine shredded corned beef, chopped sauerkraut, shredded Swiss cheese, softened cream cheese, caraway seeds, salt, and pepper.
- Mix the ingredients together until well combined and sticking together.
- Form small balls from the mixture, about the size of a golf ball.
- Coat the balls in breadcrumbs, then dip each into beaten eggs, and roll in breadcrumbs again for extra crunch.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C) and fry the balls in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- While frying, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, horseradish, hot sauce, and additional seasonings in a separate bowl for the dipping sauce.
- Once cooked, drain the Reuben Balls on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Serve hot with the spicy dipping sauce on the side.
Notes
Great for parties and gatherings. Can be made ahead of time and fried just before serving.
