Savory Cabbage Beef Bake

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 small cabbage, shredded
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, with juice
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until browned, about 7 minutes. Drain fat.
  3. Add shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes, cooked rice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  4. Simmer the mixture for 5 minutes to blend flavors.
  5. Transfer to the baking dish, spreading evenly.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 30–35 minutes, until cabbage is tender.
  7. Let rest for 5 minutes, then serve warm.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, substitute beef with beans or lentils. You can also add cheese on top before baking for a cheesy flavor.
