Seafood Gratin

A delicious and comforting dish combining shrimp and scallops in a creamy sauce, topped with melted cheese.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound scallops
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated cheese (such as Gruyère or Parmesan)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Fresh bread or pasta (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté the garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add shrimp and scallops to the skillet, cooking until just opaque.
  4. In a baking dish, combine the seafood, heavy cream, and half of the grated cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with bread or pasta.

Notes

Make sure not to overcook the shrimp and scallops in the skillet, as they will continue to cook in the oven. Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese for added flavor. Adding a splash of white wine to the cream mixture can enhance the taste of the dish.
