Tiramisu Truffles

Delightful bite-sized truffles that combine the rich flavors of traditional tiramisu in a chocolate-coated treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon espresso or strong coffee (cooled)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cocoa powder (plus extra for dusting)
  • 1/2 cup ladyfinger crumbs (or graham crackers)
  • 8 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate (for coating)
  • 2 oz white chocolate (optional drizzle)
  • Mini chocolate chips (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, cooled espresso, and cocoa powder. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  2. Stir in the ladyfinger crumbs or graham crackers until fully incorporated.
  3. Cover and chill the mixture in the refrigerator for about one hour.
  4. Once chilled, scoop and roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a tray lined with parchment paper.
  5. Freeze the truffles for 15 to 20 minutes.
  6. Melt the semi-sweet or dark chocolate using a double boiler or microwave.
  7. Dip each truffle into the melted chocolate, tap off excess chocolate, and place back on the parchment-lined tray.
  8. Optionally, drizzle with melted white chocolate and sprinkle with mini chocolate chips.
  9. Dust with extra cocoa powder before the coating sets.
  10. Chill in the refrigerator until the chocolate coating is firm, about 30 minutes.

Notes

Use room temperature mascarpone for a smoother mixture. These truffles can be frozen and stored for up to three months.
