- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 slices sourdough or white bread
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it apart for about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the onion and garlic, sauté until the onion is translucent (3-4 minutes).
- Season with salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth; simmer until thickened (5-10 minutes).
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Preheat another skillet over medium heat.
- Place two slices of bread butter-side down, top with the beef mixture, then sprinkle the cheeses.
- Place the remaining slices of bread on top, butter-side up.
- Grill until golden brown and cheese melts (3-4 minutes per side).
- Slice sandwiches and serve warm with optional parsley garnish.
Notes
For added flavor, consider using a mix of your favorite cheeses or adding vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms to the beef mixture.
