Vegan Chick-fil-A Style Nuggets

Delicious, crispy plant-based nuggets that are a great alternative to traditional chicken nuggets, perfect for snacking or serving at parties.

  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 14 oz (400 g) super-firm tofu (or extra-firm tofu, pressed)
  • 1/2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup dill pickle juice
  • 2 tbsp agave syrup
  • 1 tbsp vegetable broth powder or poultry seasoning
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 3/4 cup nutritional yeast
  • Vegan honey mustard dipping sauce

Instructions

  1. Drain and press the tofu to remove excess moisture. Cut it into nugget-sized pieces.
  2. In a bowl, mix the soy sauce and dill pickle juice. Add the tofu pieces to the mixture and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, combine agave syrup, vegetable broth powder, sweet paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well to create a flavorful coating.
  4. Coat each tofu piece with nutritional yeast and then place it on a baking tray.
  5. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for about 20-25 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden and crispy. If pan-frying, cook in a bit of oil until each side is golden brown.

Notes

Use super-firm tofu for the best texture. Marinating the tofu longer will enhance the flavor. Consider air frying for an even healthier option.
