Ingredients
Scale
- 14 oz (400 g) super-firm tofu (or extra-firm tofu, pressed)
- 1/2 tsp soy sauce
- 1/2 cup dill pickle juice
- 2 tbsp agave syrup
- 1 tbsp vegetable broth powder or poultry seasoning
- 1 tsp sweet paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 3/4 cup nutritional yeast
- Vegan honey mustard dipping sauce
Instructions
- Drain and press the tofu to remove excess moisture. Cut it into nugget-sized pieces.
- In a bowl, mix the soy sauce and dill pickle juice. Add the tofu pieces to the mixture and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, combine agave syrup, vegetable broth powder, sweet paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well to create a flavorful coating.
- Coat each tofu piece with nutritional yeast and then place it on a baking tray.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for about 20-25 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden and crispy. If pan-frying, cook in a bit of oil until each side is golden brown.
Notes
Use super-firm tofu for the best texture. Marinating the tofu longer will enhance the flavor. Consider air frying for an even healthier option.
